The Chapel

Today we will observe The Chapel's Annual Service of Remembrance when medals and awards may be worn.

The monthly Morning Service is taken from the Book of Common Prayer and all are welcome to attend. The shortened version of Holy Communion will not be offered this month due to the Major Event also taking place at the same time – see details below .

The Lesson will be read by Colonel Richard A. Shervington, TD. DL President of The Essex Regiment Association.

The service will be conducted by the Reverend J. A. Randall.

MAJOR EVENT : Today's service will also include the Dedication and Blessing of the Chapel's new Altar Frontal and Pulpit Fall.

The Dedication will be carried out by the Reverend Anthony J. Rose, Honorary Regimental Chaplain to The Essex Regiment Association (formerly Garrison Chaplain at Colchester ) .

The Frontal and Fall have been crafted by The Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace , members of which will be attending the service. Also attending will be Colonel J.D. Lacey, CBE. DL, a Deputy Colonel of The Royal Anglian Regiment together with the Mayor and Mayoress of Brentwood .

  After the service and dedication all members of the congregation are cordially invited back to the adjoining TA Centre for light refreshments.

Facilities

  There is wheelchair access to the Chapel via the South (side) door and a modern toilet with disabled facilities being located within the grounds.

Guide Dogs are permitted.

For this Service and Dedication only, cars are being permitted to park in the adjoining off-street TA Centre's car park in Clive Road (off Eagle Way ) – gates will be open from 10:15h onwards.
