The Royal Anglian Regiment Memorial, currently under construction, will be dedicated on Sunday 12th September 2010 at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Cambridgeshire.
At the Dedication Ceremony, the families of our 78 fallen will be The Regiment’s honoured guests. But whilst Regimental Headquarters is in contact with over 40 of our bereaved families, there remain a substantial number with whom, as yet, we have had no direct contact. You are therefore requested to assist in locating these families in order that they can be informed of this important occasion and invited to attend.
Please therefore find attached an extract from our Roll of Honour that lists only those whose Next of Kin we have yet to contact. It also lists the towns where the Next of Kin lived / might possibly be living. We have further records on each soldier, available on request, for those of you who might wish to help research a particular name.
If you have any clue as to where a family might be, no matter how dated or seemingly insignificant, then please pass that information to me. Alternatively, please ask the family to contact me direct at Regimental Headquarters using the telephone number below or this email address.
I would ask you to forward this search request widely to all those who might be able to assist in this important Regimental matter, particularly those who served prior to the early 1990s. I will keep you updated on the search as it progresses.
