The Royal Anglian Regiment Association
Ladies and Gentlemen,
THE ROYAL ANGLIAN REGIMENT MEMORIAL DEDICATION CEREMONY
IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM DUXFORD: 12 SEPTEMBER 2010
TICKET APPLICATION AND ALLOCATION PROCESS
The Royal Anglian Regiment Memorial will be in memory of those members of The Royal Anglian Regiment and the East Anglian Regiments who died whilst on duty. It will be dedicated in a ceremony at the Imperial War Museum Duxford on Sun 12 Sep 2010.
The Regimental Council have directed that the focus of this day is to be on our bereaved families, hosted where possible by comrades who knew the fallen. The tone of the day will be solemn and dignified and any media attendance low key and unobtrusive. The Dedication Ceremony is to replace the annual Regimental Gathering at Duxford for this year and the key timings are:
0930 Hrs: Gates open.
1000 Hrs: Seating commences.
1100 Hrs: Regimental Association members to be seated.
1110 Hrs: Major donors and hosts to be seated.
1125 Hrs: Bereaved families and hosts to be seated.
1130 Hrs: Dedication Ceremony commences.
1215 Hrs: Dedication Ceremony ends; bereaved families view the Memorial.
1230 Hrs: Bars, kiosks and stalls open.
1300 Hrs: Memorial available for all to view.
1530 Hrs: Beating Retreat around Memorial.
1700 Hrs: Bars, kiosks and stalls close.
Members of the Regimental Association are invited to attend the Dedication Ceremony in order to demonstrate support for our bereaved families and remember our fallen. However, as space around the Memorial is tight, an overall attendance limit of 4500 persons, with ticket only entrance, has been agreed with the Imperial War Museum. Those without tickets will be denied access.
Regimental Headquarters has nominated Maj Bill O’Driscoll, Area Secretary (Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland), as the Officer Responsible for organizing the ticket application and allocation process. His contact details are:

The timetable for the ticket application and allocation process is:
28 May: Ticket application forms promulgated
16 July: Ticket application deadline
2 Aug: Tickets dispatched to successful applicants
Members may apply for tickets in a group as organised by their Association Branch Chairmen, or as an individual direct to Maj O’Driscoll, but not by both routes simultaneously. The Ticket Application Form is attached and, in the event of over subscription, tickets will be limited to two per Regimental Association Member. Those applying should therefore list their bids in a clear priority order, noting that they might not get all the tickets they ask for. Ticket application forms are to be returned to Maj O’Driscoll by no later than 16 Jul 10, accompanied by a stamped address envelope. Notification of whether or not the bid was successful will be dispatched on 2 Aug 10.
Yours sincerely,
Kevin Hodgson.
